Getting the most out of your ceremony photography { Winston Salem, NC, Kernersville, Wedding Photographer }

Your ceremony photos will be a different style than your engagement and bridal sessions. While your e-shoot involved lots of posing ,ceremony and reception photos are documentary in style.Keep in mind that your photographer can only shoot photos of what is actually happening, and may be very restricted depending on any rules regarding movement, or use of flash. Another thing that seriously effects photo style and quality is the lighting. If you are having a dark ceremony by candle light, this will present a different type of photo than an outdoor beach ceremony at noon. Deciding what type of light suits your style is something your photographer can help you with.

In many ceremonies, the Bride and groom stand with their backs to the crowd of family and friends. Sometimes this may be intentional, and just the way that the bride, groom or officiant prefer, but I think most of the time it is because it is a small detail and easy to overlook- maybe they didn’t realize it would matter very much. Standing side view as shown above gives a beautiful view to friends, family { and photographer too! } it can make for a better view of your faces, reactions, and your hands during the exchange of rings.

Let your photographer know about things like unity candles, memorial ceremonies, or jumping of the broom. This way I will expect it, and be prepared to take photos of all the details.

Don’t be afraid to go back for seconds….or thirds!! Who wrote the rule book anyway? Going back for a second, kiss or even a hug gives you more variety of fun exciting photos at the altar and makes it a more fun and real experience for your guests.

Ham it up for the camera, you’re probably really nervous but…this is the happiest day of your life!! When you march back down that aisle together; smile, wave, kiss, laugh, celebrate, and rejoice in the fact that you are now man and wife.

Whatever choices you make, make sure you keep YOU in mind. Your preferences and your style is what will shine through to make your day picture perfect.
