About the Editing Process
After your photo shoot is where the real magic happens, the photos we have taken will be “processed” first I will decide which ones to keep and which did not make the cut. This decision process is based on many technical and aesthetic reasons, and is solely at my discretion. Not every single photo that we shot will make the final cut. There are many reasons why varying from the amount of photos being much more labor to process, to photos that are almost identical to others. The amounts of photos allotted in each package are more manageable. Even as a professional over a thousand photos can be extraordinarily overwhelming so it is a good thing that the best ones are picked out for you.
The next step in processing is editing the selected photos, this involves color balancing and enhancing.
Next- an even smaller, more special group will be chosen for additional editing. It can be very time consuming, depending on what needs to be done. Sometimes this phase may delay your processing time for several weeks- especially in cases where extensive airbrushing is requested. Photos are processed using colors, styles, formats, and designs are decided on a photo –by – photo basis. Because a photographer considers their photos to be artwork it is typical to spend time perfecting each photo as an individual work of art.
Black & White VS. Color
In the Editing Process, especially for Weddings most photographers will be using Black and White processing quite a lot. If you do not like Black and white, this definitely should be mentioned beforehand, so your photographer knows up front what you expect.
There is so much more involved in this process if books, albums or other products are involved, the photographer will have to wait for those companies to complete their jobs, before getting your images back to you. Typically a contract will allow for six weeks or more to complete wedding images, but more and more often these day photographers are completening wedding images in about two weeks, and albums in a month.
