Have I ever told you that I’m afraid of wet Peanut Butter?? Yup I’m a total freak, I know.
I’m also afraid of the dark, and all medicines too. I recently went in for colonoscopy, and when I found out I would need IV meds almost went home. Thankfully with the help of an amazing nurse I was able to push myself through the panic and face my fears.
Even though I used to be afraid to leave the house, I push myself on a regular basis to enjoy social activities. One of my favorite night- out activities is Karaoke. We even do it at home with our kids. If you haven’t embarrassed your children by gangsta rapping on a karaoke mic, then you are missing out on a real treat.
Pushing through fear is something I have made a regular part of my life. Over a decade ago, I let my fear anxiety and doubt get the best of me, and I became a shut-in. Afraid to leave the house, soon the house was not even protection enough, and I would find myself hiding in the back of a closet behind the clothing. I learned that Anxiety and fears must be faced every single day or they will get the best of you. A fear will become more and more powerful each and every time you allow it stop you from doing something.
So just chill till the next episode……
